Apprentice Plumber

Roto-Rooter is hiring apprentice plumbers to work as drain service technicians / entry level plumbers. People with good communication skills and a mechanical aptitude will thrive in this job. First year Roto-Rooter technicians can expect top-pay, earning $55,000, on average. Pay increases quickly with each year of experience.

Even without prior plumbing experience, you can succeed in this trade if you’re mechanically inclined. Roto-Rooter plumbing apprentices/ service technicians use their skills to provide solutions to plumbing and drain problems. In this role, you will perform plumbing & drain services for both residential and commercial customers, in many cases using Roto-Rooter’s proprietary tools and drain cleaning machines. A service call begins with diagnosing problems then providing cost estimates to close the sale. Next, you'll make the necessary repairs for the customer and document estimates and invoices, both in writing and on a provided smart phone. Finally, you’ll collect payment and move on to the next service call.

There are no quotas to meet and we will work with you on a flexible work schedule so you can maintain a work/ home life balance. We also offer easy transfers to any other Roto-Rooter Branch in the nation, should you ever want to relocate.

Minimum 2 years mechanical experience preferred, but not required if you're mechanically inclined, have good communication skills, are self-motivated, and hold a valid driver's license.

Job Description

Roto-Rooter is the name that home owners and businesses have turned to for over 80 years for their plumbing and drain cleaning troubles. Our newest division, water restoration, is growing quickly, and we are adding additional team members.

As our Water Restoration Project Lead, your responsibilities will include:

Promote our commercial and residential services to insurance agents for properties that have been damaged by water
Front line and first responder for our company
Inspect site and present solutions to the customer
Use Xactimate software to create proposal
Be the point of contact for the customer and insurance agent throughout the project
Ensure project is completed in established time frame and to the customer’s satisfaction
Hire a team of sales representatives and service technicians
Sales management experience preferably in the restoration or service industry
Strong customer service focus and able to communicate effectively with customers
Able to work in a fast paced environment
Fluent using Xactimate software

Drain Service Technician

Roto-Rooter is hiring drain service technicians. People with good communication skills and a mechanical aptitude will thrive in this job. First year Roto-Rooter service technicians can expect top-pay, earning $55,000, on average. Pay increases quickly with each year of experience.

Roto-Rooter service technicians use their skills to provide solutions to sewer and drain problems. In this role, you will perform sewer & drain cleaning/unclogging services for both residential and commercial customers using Roto-Rooter’s proprietary machines and equipment.

You’ll diagnose problems and provide cost estimates to close the sale, then you'll complete the necessary service for the customer. Additionally, you’ll document estimates and invoices in writing and on a provided smart phone. Finally, you’ll collect payment for services rendered and move on to the next service call.

There are no quotas to meet and Roto-Rooter will work with you on a flexible work schedule so you can maintain a work/ home life balance. We also offer easy transfers to any other Roto-Rooter Branch in the nation, should you ever want to relocate.

Some mechanical experience preferred, but not required if you're mechanically inclined, have good communication skills, are self-motivated, and hold a valid driver's license.
